adjusting output audio level separate left / right channel
« on: December 03, 2017, 01:10:22 pm »
Hi all,

normally the RX audio is played on both channels on my headphone (left+right). Is it somehow possible to instruct RCforbClient to output only to left or right audio channel?

Thanks for any assistance in advance.

Right Click the Speaker icon in the Windows tray
Select Playback Devices
Double click on the sound device your Client is using
Click on Levels tab
Click 'Balance" button. There you will find controls for left and right levels

I'm not sure what is being asked for here exactly but it should be noted the method Roger as outlined will only give one audio channel or the other. It doesn't force a combined mono mode. Normally the windows mixer sends Left channel to left speaker and Right Channel to Right Speaker. If you push the balance slider all the way to the right, what you will have is only the right channel in the right speaker, no left channel at all. Essentially you can't send left channel audio to the right speaker or vice versa.
You can try the third party program VoiceMeeter https://www.vb-audio.com/Voicemeeter/index.htm it has a mono mode.
