PCR 1000 Remote Question
« on: October 22, 2017, 02:01:25 pm »
Hi everyone

I plan on getting a pcr-1000 to use with remote hams as it is supported better then the sdrplay. I wanted to know is the pcr-1500 supported as well ? and as good as the pcr-1000 ?

                        Thanks,

                         Dave -

Yes they are both supported one way or another and the 2500 as well, although only with the single receiver.
There should already be some posts on the forum covering this from the past.

ok thanks...I'll have to do a search for PCR 1500 as i'm concerned if it supports everything as the PCR 1000...my SDRplay iis not supported for WFM and filters. Also at android software there's no way to adjust the volume if it happens to be lower.

The PCR 1000 is supported through HRD. Any radio supported by HRD can be used with RcForb. What ever controls HRD supports, will be passed to the Server. See if HRD supports the 1500.

I did say one way or another. One way is using HRD another way is using SWLog which is no longer maintained but I can supply a copy of the last releases . There are also the options of USING PCR Conduit or PCR Cloak, All I this is covered in previous posts.

As I have also said before the lack of controls available for your SDR Play is a SDR Console issue, not a RemoteHams one. Simon has said he will get to extending support when he gets a chance.

testing now with SDR Ham It UP...radio connects with RCForb using SWL settings but can't seem to publish or get radio on with SWL..i added 21688 port to my firewall.
Also what password do i use in SWL ?  I made one up but might be why its not publishing. Please advise any mistakes.

i just realized my SDR requires the the ZADIG drivers to be installed not sure if i did this right as shown on there website here...
Also SWL says needs location to be enter as well as countires needed to be downloaded from WSL that i couldnt find how to do. I think i will wait until i can get a pcr 1000 or pcr 1500.
Thanks for your help here.

For using Zadig follow the guide here, http://m3ghe.blogspot.co.uk/p/installing-rtl-dongle-sdr-driver-using.html

As for password in SWLog, none needed. you don't use the server in it only in RCForb. Many of the databases won't install in SWLog because the links are dead, just ignore. SWLog wont support SDRplay as that device didn't exist when SWLog was last updated.
To use a RTL SDR dongle and Ham it up with RCForb you will need to use the SDR Radio driver and connect to SDR Console like you did with your SDRplay. But you will still only get the same options as before, so no WFM etc.
