VoIP substitute for better RX audio
« on: July 15, 2017, 02:15:56 pm »
Hi Everyone!

I am running latest server/client since a while now and I do like it a lot. Works perfectly and also managed to have UCXLOG/HDSDR remote and synched through OmniRig.

The only thing I do not like is the receiving audio, it is a little harsh and obviously not as clear as sitting in front of the audio. TRX audio is perfect, there is no difference noticeably and I do get great reports.

What is the best option with about the same bandwidth (can be a little more, enough bandwidth available) in order to substitute the codex only for RX (3rd party audio solution). Is it planned to substitute the codex in the future?

Any help is appreciated.

The new server being worked on will be utilizing Opus for compression, which should result in better quality audio.
